So, I just finished reading Gilded: How Newport Became America’s Richest Resort, and I absolutely loved it. Of course, why wouldn’t I? Money, the idle rich, palaces by the sea, architecture, It has everything I love. It made me want to re-read another fantastic book- Consuelo and Alva Vanderbilt: The Story of a Daughter and a Mother in the Gilded Age.
If you haven’t read either of them I highly recommend them. Now, I’m off to keep feeding the flames of my obsession with everything old money! :D
